Quick Time Problems:
There are some elements that have a higher than average potential for problems. If you are having trouble with the quick time movie playback, there are a number of possible work arounds.
The number one problem is that your browser doesn't have the quick time plug in or it isn't properly set up. If you don't have the plug in it is available to download from Apple, or your borrower's web site. This is also an opportunity to download an up dated browser. Both Microsoft and Netscape have recently released new browser updates, complete with the latest plug ins, that are free. Do not download a new browser if your computer is more than a couple of years old, since the latest versions require a lot of disk space, lots of memory and a fast processor.

The number two problem is that your browser runs out of disk and /or memory space when attempting to run one of the quick time movies. The reason this happens is that the browser assumes it must download the movie and store it locally as if it was obtained from the web. What happens is your browser runs out of scratch disk space when accessing the longer / hi resolution movies. The  the movie's file name and CD directory are listed next to the movie thumbnail picture. You can launch the quick time movie player that comes with most all recent operating systems, by finding the file on the CD and double clicking on it. The viewer will access the data on the CD directly, without buffering it to your hard drive. If this doesn't work you will have to install a viewer. Please call me and we can work through how to install the quicklime viewer that is on this CD. There is also a browser only version of netscape (4.08) on this CD. I am amazed that you are reading this if you are having browser problems and need to load netscape!

Graphics and Color:

All the graphics on this CD are done in 24 bit color and are designed to be viewed on a 800 x600 or 1024 x 768 desk top. If the graphics look solarized or pixcilated you need to readjust the settings on you graphics card. You will probably find it is set to 256 colors, when it needs to be set to thousands (16 bit) or millions (24 bit). Most computers that are used for gaming are set to 256 colors, since games need to run on any computer. If you experiencing menu bar wrap around your monitor is set for 640 X 480 or the browser window needs to be expanded to full size. If your monitor is running at 640 X 480, adjust the resolution to at least 800 X 600 and preferably 1024 X 768 if possible.
